Indy cars are one of the five vehicle classes in Car and Driver Presents: Grand Tour Racing '98. They are the fastest class, reaching up to 225 mph on the speedways of Moscow and Hong Kong.

Indy cars are the ultimate race cars, with explosive acceleration, exceptional braking, unparalleled handling, and extreme top speeds. They are more responsive than Sports Cars, but much less forgiving.
Overview[]
Indy cars are featured in the third and fourth levels of both Moscow and Hong Kong, offering a brief respite from the more popular sports cars. They participate in the least number of races with five, one fewer than buggies. Their extra level appearance in Egypt 7 features a large-wheeled version of the original car, which drives on rugged and sandy landscape.
All Indy cars within the game share the same standard formula car model. Subtle variations in weight, acceleration, and handling set them apart. For instance, Ivanov and Ahmed's vehicles carry more weight compare to the others, while Xu and Lumiere's tend to exhibit greater vulnerability during collisions. All cars share a common top speed of 225 mph on the Moscow and Hong Kong tracks, but with their oversized wheels on the Egypt track, this figure drops to 160 mph.
