Sports cars are the second fastest car class in Grand Tour Racing 98. They are featured eight times on the streets of Moscow and Hong Kong, and once in Switzerland.

1997 Manual Description

Sports cars are the fastest production vehicles from the top automotive manufacturers in the world. These cars feature gut-wrenching acceleration, precision handling, and blazing top speeds.

Overview

Sports cars are raced in four levels each of Moscow and Hong Kong, with Indy cars replacing them in middle levels. These cars have a top speed of 150 mph in the first two levels. In later levels, their top speed rises to a 200 mph average.

The sports car is extremely versatile, as its speed is well-balanced with its nimble handling and maneuverability. Each sports car features different characteristics, with a few resembling each other physically.

Sports Car Types

Ivanov resembles the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV. It is the second fastest and heaviest sports car, with superior attack-resistance. However, the handling is difficult.

Xu's sports car is a 1998 Lotus Espirit V8 that physically resembles Ivanov's Lamborghini. However, the vehicles oppose each other by driving experience, as Xu's car is a middleweight with lower top speed and good handling.

Lumiere and Roberts resemble each other by appearance, despite having different cars. Lumiere's McLaren F1 GTR 96 appears to be heavier, faster, and more stable than Roberts' Bugatti EB110. Roberts makes a better choice for handing and acceleration.

Baptiste and Rossi both feature Ferrari F355 Challenges. Baptiste is significantly faster than Rossi, while Rossi boasts better, more excellent handling. Both are lightweights, with Baptiste being more resilient than Rossi during combat.

Ahmed's sports car is a Ferrari F40 Competizione with excellent speed and acceleration. It is the fastest of all sports cars, displaying a top speed of 220 mph. However, the vehicle tends to be unstable and difficult to control.

Morgen's Dodge Viper RT/10 is a light sports car with a good top speed, but tricky handling. It is notorious for performing random flips when driven into a wall. Although it is fast, the vehicle tends to lose speed around corners, and is also extremely vulnerable to attacks.
